Test Shoot

Our test shoot was to give us a better vision of how the music video will look. It allows us to practice for the real thing. It was also to show us how we will need to film it, highlight any major problems that we hadn't noticed prior to this. Editing it also gives us more of an idea of the things we need to shoot, and how it will look overall.
I was in charge of fiming the shots for the test shoot, and one of my other group members was in charge of the editing. This is according to our strengths as I am competent in camera angles and making the shot look nice.
I shot one shot in wide angle, so we had an establishing shot. I then asked them to perform again and I could do one continuous shot with close ups of the members. We then also did a continuous shot on the vcr camera, which I think was very effective and worked well.
The test shoot went quite well, we did run into a few problems such as being very tight on time, but we managed to carry on and get through it.
We had to improvise a bit with the non-sync section as we didn't have any of the props to use. However I think that the outcome of this section was very successful and looked really good on the handheld camera.

I think that the way we organised our group and had induvidual roles was very effective and we got the test shoot done very effectively.

We were quite happy with the costumes that the cast had chosen to wear for the shoot, however we are going to ask them to send options of more outfits so we can choose the ones that fit the concept the best.
